Scott Nichols, MSW, LCSW, LAC

Scott is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), with 14 years of experience providing mental health and addictions counseling in multiple settings.

Scott is dedicated to providing high quality, fair cost services to all that are interested, but has a special interest in serving the residents of Johnson County.   

Scott enjoys all aspects of interacting with clients and working to help others help themselves. He is most interested in treating mood disorders, addiction, and working with married couples. His main theoretical approach combines facets of Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, and Choice theory to provide caring, compassionate services to all of his clients. 

Scott graduated from Center Grove High School in 1987. Following high school, he attended Hanover College where he graduated with a Degree in Psychology in 1992. At Hanover, Scott was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and played varsity tennis for 4 yrs.

After graduating from Hanover College, Scott spent the next 5 years working in a variety of residential treatment centers for kids/teens. He also worked in community mental health as a case manager.

In 1997, Scott started working on a Master’s in Social Work degree at IUPUI, and graduated in 1999. Since receiving his MSW, Scott has been working as an outpatient clinician with the community health system, and for the last 9 years in private practice.

Outside of work, Scott is married for 22 years, and has one son that is a sophomore at Hanover College. He is active in his faith and attends Vineyard Community Church. He enjoys being outdoors, fishing or just enjoying nature, all sporting events, and quiet evenings in the back yard with his family, friends, and 2 lovable labs.
